Overview

Want to become a true dodgeballer and learn the 5 d’s of dodgeball? Join Volo’s Baltimore dodgeball leagues to learn how to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge! Baltimore dodgeball leagues are played in various neighborhoods like Federal Hill, Canton, and more. We offer coed, super social Baltimore dodgeball to make the game social and fun! Take it one step further and hit the bar with us after your games where flip cup at the bar counts towards your league standings. Yep, that’s right – the bar is just as important as making it to your games! Come out, play Baltimore dodgeball, meet new people and HAVE FUN. You can join our extremely social Baltimore dodgeball league as a team, small group of friends or solo!

Dodgeball leagues

Volo sports leagues operate a lot like the sports leagues of your youth. Most of our leagues are 5 to 8 weeks and culminate in a series of playoff games to crown a champion! By competing in leagues, your team can also qualify for championship tournaments throughout the year to compete for city-wide, regional, and even national titles. A team t-shirt is always included with registration and you will receive it at your first game. Volo provides specially trained staff members, referees, equipment, and prizes for your game. After your games each week, you and your team will head over to one of our sponsor bars for some post-game fun! Volo hosts the best post-game social parties and you will have access to Volo exclusive food and drink specials. By participating in leagues, you will also enjoy special invitations to Volo events, often including an end of season party. We strive to keep the games fair, safe, and stress free so that all you need to do is show up, play, socialize, and have a great time!

Competition Levels

Super Social leagues are great for anyone looking for a party at the field and the bar! These leagues require no experience playing the sport and players are primarily there to have fun. The super social level is great for anyone looking to make new friends, find a love connection, and make some new memories!

Intermediate leagues are for players who have played before and are seeking a little more competition. People at this level have a good understanding of the rules and have the basic skills down.

Styles of Play

Party
Party dodgeball is the new (and dare we say improved) version of the game you know and love from childhood. Play different variations of dodgeball for 35 mins and the team with the most wins...wins the match. Party dodgeball variations include Greek, Prisoner, Doctor Dodge, Four Square, Pinball, and Traditional style. Not so hot at dodgeball? Make sure to head to the mandatory flip cup* game after your match because flip cup counts toward league standings! A dodgeball win is 2 points, and a flip cup win is 1 point, so every member of the team can contribute to a win! *Due to health guidelines, flip cup may be suspended due to COVID19
Traditional
Traditional style dodgeball is the gym class game exactly how you remember it! Leagues can be 6v6, 7v7, or even 12v12 depending on the size of the court. All traditional dodgeball leagues are coed and are 30 min long, play as many games as you can because the team with the most wins will be declared the winner of the match! Not so hot at dodgeball? Make sure to head to the mandatory flip cup game after your match because flip cup* counts toward league standings! A dodgeball win is 2 points, and a flip cup win is 1 point, so every member of the team can contribute to a win! *Due to health guidelines, flip cup may be suspended due to COVID19

Du Burns Arena

Du Burns Arena is where you'll learn the five d's of dodgeball really quick! Our indoor turf field is a favorite among players - especially because it’s extremely close to the Canton Square and all of your favorite hangouts. Multiple leagues will be playing here, so expect to socialize with lots of teams from different leagues! No alcohol allowed on the field. Limited parking is available, but most people walk since it’s extremely centrally located.

St Ignatius Academy

Located in Federal Hill, St. Ignatius Academy has a multi-purpose gym where players can test their mettle against each other in the fast-paced world of dodgeball. Once players get a good work out, great food is only a short stroll away to Cross Street Market and the surrounding dining areas!
