Relive your recess glory days! Kickball, one of our most popular and social sports, is played throughout the city of Baltimore including Federal Hill, Canton, Hampden and more. Cultivate new friendships, meet you next significant other or use it as a reason to get your crew together each week! Sign up to play any of our kickball formats and you’re sure to join a social group of people ready to mingle.

Kickball leagues

Volo sports leagues operate a lot like the sports leagues of your youth. Most of our leagues are 5 to 8 weeks and culminate in a series of playoff games to crown a champion! By competing in leagues, your team can also qualify for championship tournaments throughout the year to compete for city-wide, regional, and even national titles. A team t-shirt is always included with registration and you will receive it at your first game. Volo provides specially trained staff members, referees, equipment, and prizes for your game. After your games each week, you and your team will head over to one of our sponsor bars for some post-game fun! Volo hosts the best post-game social parties and you will have access to Volo exclusive food and drink specials. By participating in leagues, you will also enjoy special invitations to Volo events, often including an end of season party. We strive to keep the games fair, safe, and stress free so that all you need to do is show up, play, socialize, and have a great time!

Competition Levels

Super Social leagues are great for anyone looking for a party at the field and the bar! These leagues require no experience playing the sport and players are primarily there to have fun. The super social level is great for anyone looking to make new friends, find a love connection, and make some new memories!

Intermediate leagues are for players who have played before and are seeking a little more competition. People at this level have a good understanding of the rules and have the basic skills down.

Styles of Play

Indoor
You guessed it! Play our infamous kickball leagues..indoors! We may be lacking grass, but these leagues certainly aren’t skimping on the fun and incredibly social atmosphere. With a maximum of 9 players on the field, one must be a catcher and games last 7 innings, unless we reach the 40 minute mark first when both teams will be warned that we’ll start the last inning.
Traditional
Traditional leagues consist of 7 innings or 45-minute games, whichever comes first. With a maximum of 11 players on the field, including catcher, remember that you’ll need at least 6 players to complete. One of our traditional leagues includes a flip cup competition at the bar! If you’re one one of those leagues, note that your kickball “win” is worth 2 points and flip cup is worth 1.
Cup-in-Hand
As you can gather from the name, our Cup-in-Hand kickball leagues challenge players to compete in the game, with a cup in hand! Regular kickball rules apply but we play with a max of 12 players on the field, and of course, with one hand busy holding your beer (or water!).
Glow
We gave kickball the ultimate glow-up. There are no limits to our commitment to making the game happen. When the sun sets, glow kickball begins with a full set of glow sticks, light up ball and more.

Venues

Patterson Park - Ortman Field

2601 E Baltimore St, Baltimore, MD 21224, USA

Patterson Park in Canton is dog friendly and convenient to the Canton square for your favorite local haunts. There are usually lots of other sports playing at this location at the same time, making Patterson a very social scene with lots of friends catching up and meeting new folks. Ortman Field is lit, so if you're playing here during the week, expect to kick it under the lights!

SBLL (Formerly McHenry Row)

1100 E Fort Ave, Baltimore, MD 21230, USA

McHenry Row in Federal Hill is the original Cup-In-Hand kickball venue. The party heats up with an onsite DJ, and the liquor is right around the corner to fill your cups. Easy parking is nearby in the Harris Teeter parking lot and along Ford Avenue, but you will probably want to walk because it is so convenient, and the walk to the bar is part of the experience. Generally, multiple divisions are available for whether you’re here to flip cups or kick balls.

South Point

West Covington Park, 101 W Cromwell St, Baltimore, MD 21230, USA

South Point in Federal Hill offers both Cup-in-Hand and traditional kickball options. Enjoy stunning harbor views, as this venue is right on the water. Most nights, there are multiple sports happening and DJ or live music onsite, so the party is waiting for you to arrive. Alcohol can be purchased onsite with possible deals for players. Plenty of free parking available if you choose to drive.

Bonvegna Turf Field

3201 Toone St, Baltimore, MD 21224, USA

Bonvegna Field in Canton is the best turf field in the city. It’s extremely close to the Canton Square and all of your favorite hangouts. No dogs or alcohol allowed are allowed on the field. Limited parking is available, but most people walk since it’s extremely centrally located.

Swann Park

Swann Park, Baltimore, MD 21230, USA

Swann Park in Federal Hill is a public park where we often have kickball and softball leagues going, so it is a social atmosphere where you can meet people and mingle. As alcohol is not allowed, we only play traditional kickball here, but the fields are expansive giving you more room to run. There is convenient free parking onsite, and it is easily walkable.

Patterson Park
