Overview

Social Boston Sports bocce leagues are a friendly atmosphere where you can meet new people and have fun at the same time! Bocce is an Italian lawn game, where the objective is to throw your team's weighted balls closest to the pallino (or jack). Bocce is a fun way to relax and meet new people. When you play with us, we’ll take care of everything! You just need to sign up, show up, and play.

Bocce leagues

Volo sports leagues operate a lot like the sports leagues of your youth. Most of our leagues are 5 to 8 weeks and culminate in a series of playoff games to crown a champion! A team t-shirt is always included with registration and you will receive it at your first game. Volo provides specially trained staff members, referees, equipment, and prizes for your game. By participating in leagues, you will also enjoy special invitations to Volo events, often including an end of season party. We strive to keep the games fair, safe, and stress free so that all you need to do is show up, play, socialize, and have a great time!

Styles of Play

Gravel Court
Gravel Courts are framed and often have even surfaces for a more skilled game of bocce. If the ball hits the backboard without hitting another ball, the ball should be removed from play.
Beach
Beach bocce is played at Carson Beach! We use volleyball court lines as boundaries so if it the pallino is thrown outside of that, it will require a rethrow.

Assembly Row

Assembly Row & Great River Rd, Somerville, MA 02145, USA

Assembly Row is ideal for all players as there is plenty of free parking and it's also T accessible (Orange Line). With multiple sports playing at this location at the same time, Assembly is a very social scene with lots of friends catching up and multiple bars and restaurants to try! Games take place on the two courts behind Cafe Nero located at 375 Assembly Row, Somerville, MA 02145.

Carson Beach

Carson Beach, Boston, MA, USA

Everyone knows bocce is better on the beach, so join us for our only beach bocce league at Carson Beach! There are two small parking lots at Carson along with free parking available along Columbia Rd. The beach is also easily accessible via the Red Line. With volleyball playing nearby and softball and kickball across the street there will be no shortage of new friends in this social and fun atmosphere. There will usually be a sponsor bar to go to with your teammates where you can enjoy member only specials (post COVID). Friendly reminder, no alcohol is allowed on the beach.

Canal District Kendall - Kendall Square

Kendall bocce takes place right next to the bar Glass House. We have a special permit that allows our players to drink while they play! Space is extremely limited so register for this league ASAP!
