What’s a drop-in?

Drop-ins play on a league team for a single game. All the fun, no season-long commitment.

Playing time: Plan on about half the game, though it can vary.
Bring a friend: Want to play together? Find a team with more than one spot open.
Know the level: Only drop-in if you're comfortable with the league's competition level.

⚾️Thursday 9v9 Softball at Presidio Recreation Center in San Diego LEAGUE DETAILS

  • Time Frame: 6:00pm - 10:00pm

  • Full Team Roster Minimum: 14 players

  • Minimum 8 players to start a game

    • 2 females/non-male players required  

  • One 50 Minute Game Per Night

  • IMPORTANT - Rule Callouts: 

    • 3 Pitch Slow-Pitch Softball 

    • Pitch to Your Own Team

    • Players must play in the field to bat

    • NEW BATTING RULE FORMAT: Batting order must follow a 2 men : 1 woman rotation throughout the lineup.

  • Regular Season: 8 guaranteed

    • Bye Weeks / Doubleheaders: May occur depending on registration

    • Make-up Games: Guaranteed 1 makeup game due to weather or venue changes

    • Blackout Date: 11/26

  • Playoffs: All teams guaranteed to qualify

  • Games will be refereed by 1 umpire

**Registered Groups who are not pre-paid teams and do not meet the minimum roster requirement by the registration deadline may be merged with other small groups, or have free agents added to their roster to meet the minimum roster requirement.


🌦WEATHER & MAKEUP POLICY

If San Diego Softball games are postponed due to weather, facility closures, or other unforeseen circumstances, Volo Sports guarantees 1 makeup game. Priority will be to make up games at the end of the season or as double headers, however, makeups may not occur at the same location, day of the week, or time.

📋SAN DIEGO SOFTBALL GENERAL POLICIES

  • #1 Rule: BE KIND

  • Scheduling: Please note that if we do not reach at least 4 teams for each division (competitive, intermediate, or beginner/social) the league will be merged and all skill levels will compete against one another.

  • Playoffs: Top 4 teams are guaranteed at least one playoff game. More teams will be added if time and court capacity allow it. Teams with 2 or more forfeits will not be eligible for the playoffs.

  • Forfeits:  Teams must provide notice of forfeits 24 hours prior to scheduled game times. If your team forfeits two or more times during the regular season, you will be eliminated from the playoffs

  • T-Shirts: All players will receive a t-shirt on week one. If there are any missing shirts for your team, please report them to your Host on week two and we will do our best to deliver them to your league on week three. Missing shirts requested after week two must be picked up from our office.

  • Alcohol: Per San Diego county laws, alcohol is prohibited at this venue. Please enjoy food and drinks at your league sponsor bar after your game.
