What’s a drop-in?

Drop-ins play on a league team for a single game. All the fun, no season-long commitment.

Playing time: Plan on about half the game, though it can vary.
Bring a friend: Want to play together? Find a team with more than one spot open.
Know the level: Only drop-in if you're comfortable with the league's competition level.

Come get your Monday rolling and join us at two of the best fields north of the city! Teams will play once a week at either Danehy Park in Cambridge or Foss Park in Somerville, both beautiful turf fields with lights and on site parking. The full schedule will be released prior to the start of the season so you know where you're going every week. This league sells out every season so register quickly!


League Schedule + What’s Included 📅

  • 6 Regular Season Games + 2 Week Playoffs (All Teams Make Playoffs)

    • No on site referee fees!

  • Teams may have byes and/or doubleheaders

  • Teams subject to games in all time slots

    • If captains of complete teams have schedule requests on specific weeks they can include the request when registering. 

    • We can not accommodate schedule requests once the schedule has been released to players


Gameplay & Rosters 👫⚽

Volo Soccer (7v7 Coed)

  • Team Roster Minimum: 11 (Minimum of 3 men/women)

    • Registered Groups who do not meet the minimum roster requirement by the registration deadline may be merged with other small groups, or have free agents added to their roster

  • 7 players on the field (minimum of 2 men/women on the field)

    • Non binary players may account for either genders' minimum. Example: A team has 5 men on the field with a woman and a non binary player. That team meets gender requirements. 

  • Minimum to play: 5 players (including 1 man/woman and/or non-binary)

  • 23 minutes per half, no overtime

  • Shin guards are optional but highly recommended

  • No offsides

Schedule: Depending on the number of teams it's possible for teams to have byes/ doubleheaders. The league may be shortened or extended by a week. All teams are guaranteed 6 scheduled regular season games.


Playoffs: All teams in this league will qualify for the playoffs. However, a “no email no show/forfeit” will result in automatic DQ from playoffs. See League Rules for more details. 


Weather Policy: You are guaranteed 2 makeup games at the same location, but games are not guaranteed to be played on the same day of week.
