What’s a drop-in?

Drop-ins play on a league team for a single game. All the fun, no season-long commitment.

Playing time: Plan on about half the game, though it can vary.
Bring a friend: Want to play together? Find a team with more than one spot open.
Know the level: Only drop-in if you're comfortable with the league's competition level.
Pro tips: Arrive early and download the Volo mobile app to chat with your team.

Have fun on weekdays! Come play Softball at Central Park in our premier fall league! 


No need to carry Bases & Balls to the field or bring cash for umpires as we provide all equipment and have no ump fees.


League Schedule 📅

  • 6 Games + Playoffs (minimum top 4 of standings will qualify for playoffs *will dd more if permits allow*)

  • Teams subject to games in all time slots

  • League may have BYE weeks

  • Games may be played any day of the week Mon-Thur

  • We will have games in the weeks of Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur

  • GAMES WILL BE PLAYED IN AND AROUND CENTRAL PARK: including but not limited to Heckscher, Great Lawn, North Meadow, Wagner Playground, Thomas Jefferson Park, Fredrick Douglas, Morningside and Booker T playground.


Gameplay & Rosters 👭 🥎

  • 10v10 Coed (max. 7 men on the field at once)

  • 6 Inning Games or 45 minutes

  • A full team consists of 15+ players (at least 4 women/non-binary players), we suggest 18-22 players - No players will be added to teams with 15+ players signed up with all roster requirements met.

  • Teams will need a minimum of 6 players to start with at least two women/non-binary players!

    • If only 1 female or non-binary player is present, an out is recorded every time the female or non-binary player should rotate in to bat (You must have at least 3 females or non-binary players in your batting line up to avoid this penalty)

  • Players must bring their own gloves, they will not be provided

  • This is a Metal Bat League

  • Sold-out leagues are subject to an adjusted roster fill-in deadline and/or registration close date


Weather Cancellations & Postponements ⛈

  • All leagues, days, times, and locations are subject to change at any point in the season.

  • In the event of unforeseen conflicts with the venue or inclement weather, games may be rescheduled to an alternate day or location.

  • The Central Park Conservancy closes the fields when there are wet field conditions OR it rained the night before. Volo does not make the cancelation decisions. We will inform you of these cancellations as soon as we find out.
