Competitive soccer is where the level jumps. Built for former college, semi-pro, and elite club players. Fast, tactical, physical games with strong officiating and teams that take the sport seriously. The highest level of adult soccer in your city outside of a semi-pro setup. You'll fit in if you played at college, semi-pro, or elite club level, want fast-paced, tactical, high-quality soccer, expect teammates who take the game seriously.
Intermediate
Is best for experienced players who want a real game without the cutthroat intensity.
Intermediate soccer is the sweet spot for most Volo players. You know the rules, you can hold your own, and you want a game where the score matters. Cleaner play, sharper officiating, and teammates who understand positioning and team play. You'll fit in if you played in high school, college, or club, understand basic positioning and team play, and want competitive games with real stakes.
Recreational / Social
Is best for Beginners, returning players, and anyone here for the social side.
Volo's recreational soccer leagues are the most beginner-friendly format we offer. Casual coed play, mixed skill levels, relaxed officiating, and a focus on fun over final score. Most solo signups land here, and most stay for the post-game hangout. You'll fit in if you are new to soccer or haven't played in years, Want a casual coed league, or you are signing up solo to meet people.

Your Questions, Answered
One of you should register as captain of a new group. Once the captain has completed registration they will get a team link. The captain should send the team link to all players so they register directly to the correct team.
League info will be sent via email a minimum of 48 hours prior to the first game. When you get the league info email you will be able to login to your app and see all important details including your team name, teammates, and schedule.
For 6v6, 7v7, and 8v8 formats you need at least two men/women on the field at all times to play at full strength. For 11v11 leagues you need 3 of each gender. In all formats you need at least one man/woman to be present for a game to be official. You will play down a person for each number of players you are short. Example: If you are in a 7v7 league and have one one woman you will play down a person so that it's 7v6 or If you are in a 11v11 league and have only one woman you play down two people so that it's 11v9. You can recruit players from other teams in the league to help sub for you if it isn't the playoffs.
No, shin guards are not required for our soccer leagues but are recommended!

No, all slide tackles will result in an automatic yellow card.
Regular Season - the game goes into the records as a tie, no extra time or PKs! Playoffs - game goes straight into Penalty Kicks to determine who wins
