Volo Sports basketball leagues in Los Angeles include weekly games, organized teams, referees, standings, and a fun social experience designed for all skill levels.
Volo Sports offers a variety of basketball leagues in Los Angeles, including co-ed, competitive, women’s, and open leagues. Each format is designed to match different skill levels and playing styles, from social, beginner-friendly games to more competitive, high-intensity play.
Co-Ed leagues have gender-based requirements that ensure both men and women are on the court, while Open leagues have no gender restrictions and allow any combination of players on the court.
Prepaid teams eliminate the chance of your team having any free agents or small groups added to your roster and allows you to add players after the registration deadline but before the league starts.
One of you can start a small group and invite the others through the invitation link or you can all sign up as free agents and send an email to [email protected] shortly after and request to be placed on the same team.
Volo Sports co-ed basketball leagues require balanced on-court gender participation to keep play competitive and inclusive. Teams must have no more than 3 men on the court at one time, and a minimum of 4 players (including at least 1 woman) is required to start an official game.
No—dunking is not permitted in Volo Sports basketball leagues for safety reasons and to help protect all players and equipment during gameplay.
Volo Sports basketball games consist of 2 x 20-minute halves. Each team is allowed one 30-second timeout per half (non-cumulative). The clock does not stop in the first half, and in the second half it only stops in the final two minutes if a team is losing by 10 points or less.
We will accommodate as many teams as possible in the playoffs, but only the TOP 4 teams are guaranteed advancement.
